As a follow-up to last week’s announcement about the world premiere of Inside Out & Back Again, presented by Bay Area Children’s Theatre (BACT), please find the director’s bio, below, and a photo of our lead actress, attached.

Inside Out & Back Again brings to the stage the New York Times bestselling book of the same name by award-winning author Thanhha Lai—the story of 10-year-old Hà, who flees war-ravaged Saigon with her mother and brothers and must start a new life as a refugee in Alabama.

Director May Liang lived the refugee experience herself as a Chinese child brought to the U.S. Please let me know if you’d like to interview her, playwright Min Kahng, BACT Executive Artistic Director Nina Meehan, or other artists who are creating this production.
