Since its inception in 2004, Bay Area Children’s Theatre has become the largest company devoted to Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) in California and one of the three leading TYA companies on the West Coast. Today, BACT is recognized as a major creative force in the Bay Area, serving over 125,000 children and adults each year.

By supporting BACT, you play a lead role in bringing live theatre and theatre education to the children of the Bay Area—the generation who will draw on their life experience to build a better future for us all.

Season Highlights

Chelsea Clinton Comes to Visit Bay Area Children’s Theatre!
BACT's production of She Persisted, the Musical was inspired by Chelsea Clinton’s best-selling book. A fourth-grade girl travels in time to meet inspirational women who overcame barriers to making history.

Students from over 250 schools participated in our arts-in-schools programs, including over 10,000 students who received free tickets to attend field trip matinee performances.

Over 3,000 children engaged in theatre education through our after school classes and camps, creating nearly 200 performances for over 17,000 audience members from their families and communities.

Sensory Friendly Theatre
The Story Explorers program served over 150 children living with autism and other disabilities.

Over 5,000 of our youngest audience members and their caregivers shared joyful arts experiences through Theatre for the Very Young and Baby Rave.

We produced nearly 675 performances in Berkeley, San Francisco, Sunnyvale and beyond. (That’s almost 2 shows for every day of the year!)

Like other nonprofit arts organizations, Bay Area Children’s Theatre needs more resources than ticket sales alone can provide in order to sustain the highest level of arts and education programs.
