Join the Usher Team

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to expose your children to the arts, stretch their imaginations, and teach them about community service?

Bay Area Children's Theatre is now accepting adult/child volunteer usher teams for The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show!

Usher teams consist of a maximum of two adults and three children who:
*Arrive at the theatre in Downtown Berkeley one hour prior to the show
*Take a tour
*Help prepare the theatre
*Greet the audience and pass out playbills
*Watch over the stage during intermission
*Help "strike the house"
*Watch the show for free!

Children on the team need to be able to:
*Stand in one place for 15 minutes (to pass out playbills and watch over the stage)
*Follow basic directions
*Allow their adult to answer questions from patrons
*Interact with people they don't know in a friendly manner
*Have fun!

What might your team look like?
*One or two parents and one or two children
*BFF kiddos and one parent each (double play date!)
*Grandparent, parent and child with a friend
