Dragonwings

When eight-year-old Moonshadow leaves his home in China to begin life with his father in San Francisco's Chinatown, he learns about struggle, determination, prejudice, kindness, and the importance of following your heart. This inspiring story explores the experience of Chinese immigrants as Moonshadow and his father face daunting hardships and even a natural disaster -- the Great Earthquake of 1906 -- all the while dreaming of the day when father will take to the sky in a homemade plane, just like a winged dragon.
